Privacy Policy

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies. Calculators run in your browser and send nothing to our servers. Here is what we collect, what we do not, and how to control it.

Short version: Calculator inputs stay in your browser. We collect your email only if you subscribe. Google AdSense drops cookies on your device to serve ads. Vercel Analytics logs anonymous usage. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Calculator inputs

All calculator computations happen in your browser. The numbers you enter (account balances, retirement dates, benefit amounts) are never transmitted to our servers, stored in a database, or associated with your identity. When you close or refresh the page, your inputs are gone. We do not log, collect, or have access to any calculator inputs.

Advertising: Google AdSense

This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (including device fingerprinting and browsing history) to show you ads relevant to your interests. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and advertising policies, not by this policy.

We use Google Consent Mode v2, which defaults all ad-related data collection to denied until you explicitly consent. If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction covered by GDPR or ePrivacy rules, no Google advertising data is collected or transmitted without your consent.

To opt out of personalized advertising by Google, visit adssettings.google.com. For broader opt-outs from interest-based advertising, visit optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.

Analytics: Vercel Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused: it does not use cookies, does not track individual users across sessions, and does not transmit personally identifiable information. It records aggregate metrics such as page views, country of origin, and device type. No personal data is stored. For details, see Vercel's privacy documentation.

Email subscriptions

If you submit your email address through an alert signup or contact form, we store that address to send you the content you requested (rate change alerts, bracket update notifications, or a response to your question). We do not share, sell, or rent your email address to any third party.

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from future mailings within 10 business days. You can also request removal through the contact page. We retain your email address until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Contact form

The contact form collects your name, email address, and message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to marketing lists unless you explicitly request it. Submissions are deleted within 12 months of the inquiry being resolved, or sooner if you request deletion.

Cookies

PensionMath does not set first-party cookies. Google AdSense sets third-party cookies for ad delivery and measurement. These cookies persist on your device according to Google's retention schedule. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent ads from loading but will not affect calculator functionality, since calculators have no server-side component.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, tax identification numbers, or any sensitive financial information. We do not collect payment card data (the site has no e-commerce component). We do not collect precise location data. We do not build user profiles. We do not share data with data brokers.

California residents (CCPA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

The only personal information we hold about you is your email address (if you subscribed) and any contact form submissions. We do not sell personal information. Google AdSense's data sharing with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" under CCPA. To opt out, use Google's Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com. To exercise your other CCPA rights, contact us through the contact page.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

California law requires us to disclose how we respond to browser-level opt-out signals. PensionMath does not set first-party cookies and does not build user profiles, so there is no first-party tracking for us to disable in response to a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal.

Google AdSense has its own GPC response behavior governed by Google's policies. If you send a GPC signal, Google's Consent Mode v2 implementation on this site will treat it as a consent withdrawal for ad personalization. We cannot guarantee how third-party services respond to your browser's signals. For the strongest opt-out, use Google's Ad Settings at adssettings.google.com.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for adults making retirement planning decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our data practices change. The date below reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days before taking effect. If you have subscribed to email alerts, we will notify you by email.

Contact

For privacy requests, data deletion, or questions about this policy, use the contact page. We respond to all substantive privacy inquiries within 30 days.
